Born in Kingston, Jamaica July 17 Courtney LJ Panton is the father/manager/bass player for the group New Kingston.

Proficient in Congas, bass and guitar he also played percussions for the Jamaica Dance School and even a dancer himself Courtney has lent his music talents to such legends as Sugar Minott Shaggy, Sister Carol to name a few and he currently performs with legendary jazz pianist Monty Alexander.

After years, of performing with his colleagues and operating a recording studio in Brooklyn New York, it was time to develop the music talents of his children. New Kingston was created and molded into a young reggae group in 2003 under his guidance and musical direction.

Courtney currently plays bass in the group and remains the steady foundation on which New Kingston has developed its discipline, musical genre and direction.
